Jan Haworth
Founder and Teacher
Jan is a fully Certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher. She first came to mindfulness when undergoing cancer treatment and was offered mindfulness to help her cope with the physical, emotional and psychological stress and pain that comes with a serious illness. Jan soon found the benefits of mindfulness extended way beyond simply a coping strategy, and found it so life changing that she was inspired to become a teacher and share mindfulness with others.
Since then, Jan has worked with staff in a range of organisations in the public and private sector, including various District Health Boards and corporate organisations.
Alongside this, she runs MBSR courses for the general public, and has a particular interest in working with people coping with illnesses.
Jan is a long time student of yoga, holds a psychology degree and has extensive knowledge and qualifications in positive psychology, health coaching and preventive health. She also developed a group course that provides knowledge, skills and support to help people move forward after cancer treatment in a positive and productive way.

In Loving Memory of Dianne May
Co-Founder, Teacher, and Friend
It is with a tender heart that we share the passing of our beloved Dianne, who died on Saturday, 16th November 2024. Many of you attended courses and retreats with Dianne over the years, and her wisdom and care left a lasting imprint on so many lives.
Dianne spent her final weeks in Mangawhai with family, navigating Pulmonary Fibrosis with incredible grace. Even in her final days, she remained her delightful, cheeky self—sharp as a tack and with a twinkle in her eye.
A pioneer in mindfulness in New Zealand, Dianne was the most experienced Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher in the country, and she co-founded Mindfulness Aotearoa. Her influence shaped the work of countless teachers, myself included, and touched the lives of many.
As we say goodbye to her physical presence in our lives, Dianne continues on in us. She lives on in her large and loving family, including many great-grandchildren. She continues in our memories, and in the teachings and compassion she so generously shared with us all.
