Finding it hard to switch off?

Do you find you tend to overthink things, worry, overreact? Or perhaps you have difficulty sleeping well at night, feeling overwhelmed and anxious?

Congratulations on being human!

We all face challenges in our lives from time to time, plus the stressors and strains of modern life can take their toll on our wellbeing.  But you can discover more calmness and freedom in your life (even amongst the chaos!),

“Through this course, I learnt to respond to things and not to react to them. I feel calmer, more focussed and more able to cope with stress. This course has both big and small tips to be mindful and be in the moment. It helped me a great deal in managing my thoughts and situations.”
— Mark
“I have found that living in the moment has opened up so much time for me. Life is so busy, and I used to spend so much time overthinking the past and the future, and then trying to distract myself by watching tv and spending time on my phone. I really am living in the moment and I have found time to do some of the things that I have wanted to do for so long.”
— Elisabeth
“I’ve gained insight into how I respond and ways to manage my response, and I’m less reactive. I’m feeling calmer and more in control of my mind. I listen more to understand the other person. I’d recommend this course to anyone who wants to understand their own mind and thought processes and get more control in their life.”
— Sarah
I’d recommend this to anyone wanting down-to-earth tools to help them improve their relationship with difficult feelings. No silver bullets, no gimmicks, and free of religious undertones. I was suggested to do MBSR by my psychologist and my main hesitation was whether Mindfulness Aotearoa were a good outfit. I had Jan as facilitator and she’s excellent, I want to say flawless, in how she delivered the course.”
— Michael
“This course was like a treasure box of insight each week. Learning that mindfulness is not about fixing anything was a revelation. I’m using what I learnt each day in many different settings. It’s been particularly helpful at helping me learn to be kinder to myself & others. Family and friends tell me I’m calmer, striving less and smiling more. Jan puts in so much work & brings so much kindness & generosity to the experience you can’t help but want to learn from her.”
— Lou
“An incredible, meaningful and transformational programme with stunning programme design, knowledge, and delivery. Highly recommend.”

I loved the 8 week MBSR course I did with Jan through Mindfulness Aotearoa. Jan was kind and patient as she led us through 8 weeks of mindfulness, learning how to be more present in our lives, not brushing over the hard stuff in our lives but learning to be with it, whatever that looks like, which in turn made me feel stronger and learn that I can deal with life’s ups and downs by being present to them. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Jan was supportive and available and gently guided us through the material. The day retreat was a total highlight. This will change your life for the better!!

MBSR is an intensive 8-week course, including over 27 hours of instruction and coaching on mindfulness.

We ask that participants make a commitment to daily practice of 20-40mins between sessions.  We appreciate that it’s often difficult to carve out extra time for something new in lives that are already very busy and crowded.  However, the commitment to spend time in between the sessions will mean that you will gain the maximum benefit from the course.
